Management & Leadership NOS consultation

Chartered Management Institute (CMI) has been appointed by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) and the NOS Governance Group to develop a suite of pan-sector National Occupational Standards in Management and Leadership to be used across the UK, revising the NOS that currently exist within this space and providing evidence for this new approach to NOS. 

As part of the UK-wide consultation for this project, we would like to invite you to provide insight and expertise by reviewing the attached initial draft of a functional map available at this link; M & L NOS- Draft functional map

We are seeking consensus and opinion on not only the core subject areas that should be covered by the functional map, but also the requirements for each area, and insight into the skills, knowledge and behaviours that you believe will be required in future managers and leaders. 

The intention is that this exercise will form part of the discovery phase for this programme; we are interested in understanding your priorities and preferences as regards the contents of the draft map, as opposed to interrogating the specific language used or what is included within each of the broader headings - this part will come later! 

Please also note that the provided functional map is a very early draft, to be used to provide a frame of reference, rather than being representative of what we expect the finished product to look like. Our plan is to interpolate all of your feedback into the next iteration, on which we will also be asking for consultation.
