This standard covers the skills and knowledge required to thermoform solid surfaces. It covers preparing moulds, calibrating and preheating


Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. comply with health and safety requirements and procedures at all

    times

    1. obtain specifications and requirements following standard

    operating procedures

    1. obtain equipment and materials required following standard

    operating procedures

    1. check equipment is set up correctly and in good working order

    following standard operating procedures and any manufacturer's

    instructions

    1. prepare moulds following company procedures and

    manufacturers' instructions

    1. calibrate and preheat thermoforming appliances following

    company procedures and manufacturers' instructions

    1. place materials in or on thermoforming appliances following

    company procedures and manufacturers' instructions

    1. follow cool down procedures using company procedures and

    manufacturers' instructions

    1. remove materials from moulds following company procedures and

    manufacturers' instructions

You need to know and understand:
