You must be able to:

  1. agree the requirements of the design brief with the designer and

    production colleagues.

    1. agree roles and responsibilities with the designer and production

    colleagues

    1. make contributions to the design, and use initiative to promote the

    smooth running of the design process

    1. determine whether you have enough reliable information to make

    creative decisions

    1. confirm any changes to the original design concept are agreed

    with the creative team, when these are justified

    1. assess whether the resources are sufficient and of the quality and

    quantity required to fulfil the design concept

    1. find alternative sources of supply when current suppliers cannot

    meet your requirements.

    2. the cost implications of realisation methods and how to balance

    these against the budget

    1. benefits, limitations and constraints of different realisation

    methods, equipment and technology

    1. original design concepts

    2. requirements of design briefs

    3. the importance of clarifying roles and responsibilities with other

    members of the team

    1. potential suppliers at your disposal

    2. action to take in the event of shortfalls in the quantity and quality

    of materials, staff or facilities

    1. relevant aspects of regulations, environmental and health and

    safety considerations in the use of materials, processes and

    technology
