Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. ensure a risk assessment is in place prior to commencing work

    and that the potential impact on the environment is known and

    understood

    1. operate, maintain and store equipment and materials so as to

    minimise environmental damage

    1. seek to ensure minimal damage to the environment when

    carrying out all work activities

    1. ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved

    procedures and practices

    1. recognise any potential or actual environmental damage and take

    action in line with organisational and legislative requirements

    1. Communicate environmental protection measures to visitors to

    site to ensure that they comply with organisational requirements for the

    prevention of incidents


Knowledge and Understanding

You need to know and understand:

  2. how to recognise wastage of energy, equipment, and materials

  3. working methods that will minimise pollution and waste of
