Confirm compliance with Tram vehicle specifications
Overview
This standard is about confirming compliance with Tram vehicle specifications. You will be able to analyse the relevant information and specification of the Tram vehicle being work on and undertake the required integrity checks and tests to ensure the Tram vehicle assets, equipment, components and systems conform to the specification required prior to returning the Tram vehicle to operational service. It also includes being able to identify and assess defects and variations to the specification and being able to take action in line with organisational procedures. You will know and understand the different tolerances and limits found in Tram vehicle specifications and how to evaluate the accuracy of the measurement and test equipment to ensure the effectiveness of the measurement or test being undertaken. You will also know and understand the organisational procedures for dealing with a non-compliance asset, equipment, component or system. This standard is for those who work in the Tram engineering environment at supervisor/technician level. |
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
P1 confirm you are wearing the correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and following the relevant health and safety procedures
P2 identify and analyse the Tram vehicle information and specifications in relation to the assets, equipment, component or systems being worked on
P3 confirm the work activities have been completed in line with organisational procedures
P4 undertake compliance checks using approved organisational methods and techniques
P5 identify and assess any defects or variations from the Tram vehicle information and specification
P6 take action when defects or variations are identified in line with organisational procedures
P7 confirm and report the completion of compliance tests and checks in line with organisational procedures
P8 record compliance information in line with organisational procedures
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
** **K1 the relevant health and safety procedures appropriate to the activity including safe systems of work K2 the different limits and tolerances found in Tram vehicle specifications K3 the types of sampling and statistical process control methods and techniques that can be used during compliance activities K4 the quality control procedures relating to Tram vehicle maintenance and engineering as defined by your organisation K5 how to identify and evaluate the accuracy of measuring and test equipment K6 how to compare the use and reliability of different measuring and test equipment K7 the relevant methods and techniques for undertaking compliance activities on Tram vehicle assets, equipment, components and systems K8 the importance of confirming compliance, before a Tram vehicle is returned to operational service, in line with organisational procedures K9 the organisational procedures for the control of a non-compliant asset, equipment, component or system K10 how defects and variations can affect the performance and safety of a Tram vehicle asset K11 the relevant organisational procedures for the completion and control of records and documentation K12 the importance of accurate, complete and controlled maintenance and engineering records and documentation |
