Overview
This standard is about proving finishing routines for bulk production.
It is about producing a pre-production finish sample, testing processing methods against customer requirements, establishing quality requirements, making adjustments to formulations and contributing to the production specification.
This standard is for those who work with processes and are involved in producing a finished sample prior to bulk production.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- follow work instructions and specifications at all times
- establish quality requirements from specifications
- assess machine processing capabilities against requirements
- select suitable processing methods
- assess substrates for process suitability, taking remedial action when required
- select suitable dyestuffs and/or auxiliary materials
- calculate accurate scale up quantities
- select relevant test methods to ensure samples meets requirements
- carry out tests in bulk production conditions
- make adjustments to formulations when required for proving finishing routines
- provide relevant information to the development of production specifications and instructions
- select finishing methods that meet requirements
- assess samples against customer specifications and make necessary adjustments to achieve specified shades
- present results to customers and obtain customer approval within required timescales
- compile instructions for production which incorporate all relevant information
- complete accurate formulation records
- incorporate relevant standard operating and quality assurance procedures into specifications
- complete and store accurate records and documentation in line with agreed procedures
