Overview

This standard is about taking responsibility for implementing own sustainable and waste minimisation business practice.  This includes the efficient use of resources, energy and water and meeting quantity and quantity requirements to minimise faults and reduce production of excess items
 
This job role may involve:
 
1.     meeting waste minimisation targets
2.     establishing and controlling working practices that minimise waste
3.     maintaining waste minimisation throughout the manufacturing process
4.     monitoring work practices to identify potential waste
5.     ensuring unavoidable waste is dealt with effectively in accordance with company and
legal requirements.
6.     compliance with social, economic and environmental principles of sustainability

P3   actively avoid and minimise waste when manufacturing fashion and textiles products
P4   meet waste minimisation targets alongside product quality standards

resource efficiency
P6   report potential opportunities to improve the efficiency of resource usage to
management
P7   report plant, process and equipment issues that may compromise waste minimisation
P8   report suspected inefficiency within company procedures or production specifications
P9   follow company waste and environmental policies at all times to improve the efficiency
of resource usage
P10identify and dispose of unavoidable waste following company procedures
P11identify and report hazardous waste
P12record progress against waste minimisation targets
P13 share information across all departments involved in waste minimisation 
P14adhere to workplace legal and compliance requirements associated with the social,          economic and environmental principles of sustainability
