Overview
This standard is concerned with monitoring the performance of cloud services. Cloud services improve the flexibility and scalability of digital services delivered to end users. Organisations can use externally hosted cloud services to run their own applications and data storage. It is important to continually monitor business-critical cloud services to ensure they perform at expected levels at all times and to ensure cloud resources are being effectively utilised.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- Select and use monitoring tools in line with organisational standards
- Establish alarm practices to identify any cloud services that operate out of specified levels as per organisational standards
- Monitor cloud services uptime and outages against service level agreements
- Report cloud performance status to stakeholders in line with organisational standards
- Provide guidelines and metrics for cloud developers to be able to support and troubleshoot cloud services
- Integrate cloud performance monitoring systems with the incident management platform to increase the responsiveness of remediation activities
