Overview

This standard is about creating an interactive website online.

This involves the planning and designing web page layout and interactions to meet requirements. It includes creating a navigational structure and producing content and features to meet requirements. It also includes uploading interactive web page content and reviewing the web page appearance, navigation and viewing experience for the website user.

This standard is for those who need to create interactive websites to meet their own needs or as part of their duties.


Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. Agree interactive website requirements with stakeholders

  2. Create a user journey to produce the navigational structure for the interactive website

  3. Select and apply a web page template and style to keep the appearance of web pages consistent 

  4. Select and apply navigation buttons and menus to implement the required user navigate between web pages

  5. Prepare required text and digital media asset content for publication on the website pages

  6. Add control features to a website, including list boxes, radio buttons and text boxes to provide the user features and user inputs required

  7. Produce a test plan to check that the website meets stakeholder and accessibility requirements

  8. Test the website to check for usability issues

  9. Resolve usability issues to remove bugs from interactive websites 

  10. Log the test results and resolutions in a test report in line with organisational procedures

  11. Upload the website to a server to make it live
