You must be able to:

- confirm the availability of existing speech content material which matches the options selected
- identify the need for original speech content required to meet production requirements
- explain the requirement for speech content to relevant production colleagues or other suppliers
- identify alternative content which achieves the same output as the original selection when the original selection is unobtainable
- make arrangements for obtaining all required clearances and permissions
- check speech content on delivery and confirm that it meets legal and broadcast standards, and production requirements
- reject material which fails to meet requirements or standards, and which cannot be modified
- check that the costs of speech content are within available budgets
- take action to remedy any budget over-runs
- confirm that the use of any potentially sensitive or contentious material is within editorial policy, broadcasting standards and legal limitations
