​This standard is about your ability to assist with costume continuity and ensure consistent continuity is maintained on set.

This may involve ensuring costumes match the design specification throughout the shoot, ensuring that performers' dress matches the previous sequential take, agreeing alterations due to unscripted events during shooting, ensuring minimal interruptions to the production schedule and keeping accurate continuity records.

This standard may be applicable to costume supervisors, costume standbys and wardrobe/ costume assistants.

1. ​check performers' dress against the costume breakdown
2. ensure that the performers' dress at the commencement of shooting meets the design brief and matches the previous sequential take
3. ensure that the performers' dress is not damaged or dirty and still meets the design brief at the end of the shoot
4. pay attention to costume detail throughout the shoot and correct it if required
5. agree changes when alterations are required as a result of unscripted events during the shoot
6. consult with the relevant person(s) to identify the appropriate resources and equipment to record continuity
7. minimise disruption to the production schedule when dressing or re-dressing performers for continuity
8. follow on-set etiquette when maintaining continuity including rules on the use of mobile phones or other modes of communication
9. obtain and record continuity information from reliable sources when not present at a take
10. record relevant costume details using digital resources where possible
11. consult with the supervisor on appropriate action to take when special effects raise health and safety issues
12. follow the productions confidentiality rules and procedures
13. keep complete, up-to-date, accurate and accessible records of costume continuity details
14. communicate clearly with production staff and other relevant departments or individuals
15.  follow health and safety legislation and guidelines at all times
