Performance criteria
You must be able to:

1. meet with the participants at an appropriate time and place
- use appropriate methods, techniques and communication skills to build a rapport with the children
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
1. the current legislation, guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols which are relevant to your work practice and to which you must adhere
the scope and limitations of your own competence, responsibilities and accountability as it applies to your job role
the principles of anatomy and physiology including skeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, respiratory, energy and digestive system
how to apply anatomy and physiology when planning safe and effective sessions for a range of children
the components of health related fitness and how to apply these into a programme of exercise to suit the children's' needs
the health benefits of physical activity and risks of inactivity
the general healthy eating advice that can be given to children based on credible sources
the importance of meeting the children at the correct time and place to provide a professional setting
9.how to identify appropriate methods, techniques and communication skills for gathering information from children and others
10.the importance of establishing roles and responsibilities at the start to ensure the best outcome
11.when to gather informed parental or carer consent for the physical activity sessions
