Overview

This NOS sets out the skills, knowledge and understanding for you to competently use hand held electronic equipment, including carrying out start and end of duty checks.

This NOS is aimed at people providing a cash and valuables transit service.


Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. confirm hand held electronic equipment issued is functioning as specified in company procedures
  2. report defective hand held electronic equipment in line with company procedures
  3. return hand held electronic equipment to designated locations at the end of duty
  4. enter the required information into hand held electronic equipment within acceptable timescales
  5. confirm that the information entered is accurate
  6. make corrections to information entered when required, following company procedures
  7. follow company procedures for manually recording information in the event of system failures
  8. produce accurate printed documentation from information entered into hand held electronic equipment
  9. submit printed documentation within agreed timescales, to persons authorised to receive it

Knowledge and Understanding

You need to know and understand:

  1. the details to enter when signing on and signing off hand held electronic equipment
  2. procedures for returning hand held electronic equipment at the end of duty
  3. types of information to enter into hand held electronic equipment
  4. operational procedures for entering information into hand held electronic equipment
  5. company procedures for manually recording information in the event of system failure
  6. how to correct information already entered into hand held electronic equipment
  7. types of document that need to be printed
  8. who should be in receipt of printed information​
