Transfer cash and valuables
Overview
The NOS covers the following activities:
Carry out secure cross pavement transfer of cash and valuables
Carry out customer collections and deliveries of cash and valuables
Respond to emergencies during transfer of cash and valuables
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
select and use the appropriate safety and security equipment for the collections and deliveries, in accordance with company procedures
wear appropriate personal protective equipment, properly adjusted, as specified in company procedures
comply with company limits for maximum values that can be transferred to and from vehicles
maintain contact with colleagues or depot during collections and deliveries as specified in company procedures
maintain vigilance at all times, reporting any suspicious activity in line with company procedures
apply safe handling and lifting methods at all times
minimise risk to self, others and consignments as per company procedures

8. check that customer representatives you deal with are authorised as per company procedures
establish that collections and deliveries comply with documentation
show appropriate identification when requested to do so
complete all collection and delivery documentation with accurate information that is in line with approved company procedures and documentation
take appropriate action to resolve discrepancies with collections and deliveries in accordance with company procedures
comply with company limits for maximum values that can be transferred to or from vehicles
Respond to emergencies during transfer of cash and valuables

14. use recognised communication tools to communicate clear and concise information relating to emergencies to customers, colleagues or emergency services, as soon as practical
take appropriate and approved action to respond to emergencies in line with company procedures
record relevant information about emergencies, using company procedures and documentation
abort deliveries or collections when necessary, making arrangements to complete at a later time
maintain the security and safety of yourself, others and consignments as per company procedures

- what items of safety and security equipment should be used when transferring items to and from vehicles
- how to use safety and security equipment and what action you should take if it does not function correctly
what items of personal protective equipment you should wear inside and outside vehicles
how to check that personal protective equipment is properly adjusted in order to maintain your safety and security
