Performance criteria
You must be able to:

carry out an impartial audit of operational processes and outputs against compliance requirements
check that strategy, policies, plans, processes, procedures and standards for the CCTV service meet internal and external audit requirements, related legislation and codes of practice

4. design processes, tools and techniques to monitor the capture, use, access to, distribution and erasure of CCTV data that meet operational requirements
develop an achievable technical specification for CCTV systems and equipment to meet compliance requirements
use information from reliable sources to identify corrective actions to meet areas of non-conformance
make a realistic plan to carry out any identified corrective actions to meet compliance requirements
use accepted communication strategies to liaise with internal and external stakeholders about compliance requirements
monitor work in your area of responsibility to ensure it meets compliance requirements on a continuous basis
develop documents and systems that store compliance information in appropriate formats for submission
check that all relevant records and documentation are complete, up to date and accessible
present compliance evidence in expected formats by agreed dates
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
- the legal, regulatory and organisational requirements that govern CCTV services
- corporate policy and other internal and external requirements that CCTV services must meet and how they relate to each other
- the benefits of creating one overarching procedure to meet both internal and external requirements
- the content of CCTV standards and other relevant industry standards, codes of practice and guiding principles, operations manuals and best practice guidance
- quality requirements relating to installation, design and maintenance and how they can be interpreted
- how key performance indicators, statistics and targets can be used to measure delivery
- how to carry out operational and privacy impact assessments,
- the strategic context in which the organisation operates
- the importance of long and medium term planning to the success of systems and services
- current and future operational requirements
- what is required of equipment in terms of 'identification', 'recognition', 'detect' and 'monitor'
- the technologies and capabilities of the systems with which you are working
- who the internal and external stakeholders are and how to communicate with them
- reporting mechanisms and evidence to show compliance
