Overview
This standard is about keeping work areas clean and tidy and maintaining the required hygiene standards, in logistics operations.
This standard is relevant to all operatives at every level in logistics operations. Operatives could, for example, be working in warehousing and storage, transport or freight forwarding.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- identify the relevant organisational health, safety and security requirements relating to the cleaning of work areas in logistics operations
- use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), tools and cleaning materials to clean and tidy the work areas
- clean and tidy the work areas to keep cleanliness, hygiene and security at the level required by the organisation
- implement safety precautions to protect people in the work areas from cleaning hazards during cleaning procedures
- minimise inconvenience to other people in the work areas when cleaning
- dispose of different types of waste, in accordance with operational procedures
- return tools and cleaning materials to the relevant storage area and follow organisational procedures for replenishment
- comply with personal health and hygiene standards in all work activities
- identify and respond to problems relating to the cleaning of work areas in logistics operations in your organisation
- record the work carried out, according to organisational procedures
- comply with the organisational procedures and all the relevant environmental, legal, safety and operating requirements relating to keeping the workplace clean
