You must be able to:

  1. ​obtain the information required to conduct the negotiations for goods
  2. determine what is required by all parties in the negotiations
  3. establish the parameters for negotiating the terms and conditions for the goods
  4. conduct the negotiations to achieve the required objectives
  5. adapt negotiation strategies to cope with new circumstances or issues
  6. confirm that the goods meet the supply chain requirements of the organisation
  7. provide information on the results of the negotiation to colleagues
  8. produce a contract of terms for the supplier to supply goods to the organisation
  9. comply with all the relevant legal, regulatory, environmental, health and safety and organisational procedures required when negotiating for goods
  10.  promote responsibility for the environment and sustainability within the organisation and communicate and implement this when negotiating for goods

  11. how to reflect the negotiation in contractual terms, in accordance with organisational procedures
