Overview

This standard is about analysing the performance of suppliers. It involves obtaining, collating and preparing information with regard to the performance of suppliers, assessing all the relevant factors and providing the results of the evaluation to colleagues.

This standard is for supply chain practitioners. They could be, for example, in purchasing, freight logistics operations or transport management roles.


Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. ​obtain the relevant information on the goods and services provided by suppliers
  2. obtain service related information on the performance of suppliers
  3. collate and prepare the information for analysis
  4. analyse information of the performance of suppliers, using the relevant analysis methods and techniques
  5. evaluate information on the performance of suppliers
  6. identify the suppliers that have achieved the specifications to supply goods and services, *and those *that have not
  7. assess the risk to the supply chain of continuing to use suppliers that have not achieved the requirements of the specifications
  8. identify any issues with the performance of suppliers that require immediate action
  9. communicate the results of the evaluation to colleagues
  10. recommend options for improving the performance of suppliers to colleagues
  11. comply with the organisational procedures for evaluating the performance of suppliers

You need to know and understand:

  1. ​your organisation's strategic aims, objectives and activities in relation to the supply chain
  2. the types of supply chain management theories, models and practices
  3. your organisation's information sources on supply chain processes and the analysis of suppliers

  5. the analysis methods and techniques relevant to the service-related information on the performance of suppliers
  6. the methods available for the evaluation of information on the performance of suppliers
  7. the types of procurement theories, models and practices
  8. the performance measurement and benchmarking theories, models and practices used by your organisation to analyse the performance of suppliers
  9. the types of quality management theories, models and practices
  10. the types of financial analysis methods and procedures
