Overview
This standard is about monitoring, evaluating and recommending improvements to the management of data and information. You will need to be able to establish and use monitoring methods, including interviewing, as well as recommend improvements to the management of data and information.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- access and accurately interpret all relevant work instructions and information
- work safely at all times and in accordance with all relevant legislation, guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols
- deal promptly and effectively with any problems within your control and report those which cannot be solved
- identify and minimise hazards and risk in the workplace
- discuss and agree the aspects of data and information management that require monitoring and evaluation with colleagues and relevant others
- establish the required liaison and consultation with colleagues and relevant others
- establish and use suitable methods for monitoring and evaluating the management of data and information
- monitor and evaluate the management of data and information in accordance with legal and organisational requirements
- analyse and record the results of monitoring and evaluation within the required timescale
- check conformity with national standards, in accordance with legislation and organisational requirements
- base recommendations for improvements to the management of data and information on the results of monitoring and evaluation
- identify relevant others who need to be involved in developing recommendations for improvements
- present your recommendations for improvements in a form that can lead to effective implementation
- complete and store all relevant documentation in accordance with organisational requirements
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
- the current legislation, guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols which are relevant to your work practice and to which you must adhere
- the scope and limitations of your own competence, responsibilities and accountability as it applies to your job role
- how to access and interpret all relevant work instructions and information
