Overview

This standard identifies the competences you need to plan the allocation of space for boats and yachts that are to be stored within the marina area. This includes the allocation of pontoon space for water based storage, and the allocation of yard space for storage ashore.  You will be required to ensure that boats and yachts are stored in accordance with organisational procedures and that the allocation of space reflects the day to day operational needs of the marina.  This will include ensuring that boats for repair or requiring maintenance work are in the correct areas to support this activity.

Your responsibilities will require you to comply with organisational policy and procedures for the allocation of marina space and to report any problems and limitations on the storage space available.  You will be expected to work, taking personal responsibility for your own actions and for ensuring that resources are effectively managed.* *

Your underpinning knowledge will provide a good understanding of your work, and will provide an informed approach to the allocation of marina space.  You will understand the space allocation techniques used, and their application.

You will understand the safety precautions relevant to the allocation of marina space and the safeguards that you need to consider for staff who are working on boats and yachts in the marina.
