You must be able to:

  2. identify and confirm specifications for work being undertaken
  3. work with colleagues to achieve specifications
  4. select materials suitable for roman and London blind construction
  5. check suitability of materials for roman and London blind construction
  6. select fabric types for roman and London blind linings to meet specifications
  7. select fabric suitable for contrast panels to meet specifications
  8. calculate blind features, measurements and dimensions and window/aperture style/size to meet specifications
  9. measure fabrics for roman and London blind construction to meet specifications
  10. estimate allowances for rod pockets and pleats to meet specifications
  11. calculate folds for both standard and cascade roman blinds to meet specifications
  12. cut fabrics to specified measurements for width/drops to meet specifications
  13. measure contrast panels to meet specifications
  14. insert contrast panels to meet specifications
  15. machine finish applying the appropriate stitch, tension and method
  16. check there is no visible disturbance to blind fronts to meet specifications
  17. finish stitching to meet specifications
  18. position and secure linings to meet specifications
  19. position and secure rod pockets and pleats to meet specifications
  20. hand finish sections applying the appropriate stitch, tension and method
  21. hand stitch to specified measurements
  22. attach rings and Velcro to meet specifications
  23. secure all edges following standard operating procedures
  24. carry out your work to the required quality and output to meet production schedules and targets
  25. identify any problems and deal with them according to standard operating procedures
  26. record information in the appropriate information systems
  27. comply with all relevant legal requirements
