You must be able to:
- comply with health and safety requirements and procedures at all times

- cut fabrics and components to specified measurements
- calculate, measure and construct pleats creating an even effect following standard operating procedures
- secure each section of the pleat with appropriate stitching to meet specifications
- construct headings to meet specifications
- stuff headings to meet specifications
- secure linings to outer fabrics to meet specifications
- insert buckrams to meet specifications
- machine finish valances by applying the appropriate stitch, tension and methods following standard operating procedures and manufacturers instructions
- machine stitch to specified measurements
- check there is no visible disturbance to valance fronts following standard operating procedures and manufacturers instructions
- finish stitching following standard operating procedures and manufacturers instructions
- carry out your work to the required quality and output to meet production schedules and targets
- identify any problems and deal with them according to standard operating procedures
