Overview
The standard covers the skills and knowledge required to produce lined and interlined curtains. This includes:

Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- comply with health, safety and environmental requirements, relevant statutory regulations and industry standards/codes of practice at all times
- identify and confirm specification for work being undertaken
- work with colleagues to achieve specifications
- carry out work to required quality and output to meet production schedules and targets
- select fabrics for curtain construction to meet specifications
- select fabric types for curtain lining to meet specifications
- cut fabrics and linings to specified measurements
- construct curtains using measurements and methods to meet specifications
- apply suitable stitch, tension and methods to machine finish sections of curtains following company procedures and manufacturers instructions
- machine stitch to specified measurements to meet specifications
- check there is no visible disturbance to curtain fronts when stitching following standard operating procedures
- hand stitch to specified measurements following company procedures
- finish stitching following company procedures
- apply locking stitching to secure lining and interlining to the main fabric to meet specifications
- construct hems to meet specifications
- secure hems without visible disturbance to curtain fronts to meet specifications
- measure, space and construct hand-stitched curtain headings to meet specifications
- identify problems and deal with them according to standard operating procedures
- record information in the appropriate information systems
