Overview
This standard applies to individuals who prepare original visual information. Visuals and supporting information are used to portray designs to clients and others at key stages in a design project.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:

- check that you have sufficient information about the requirements for 2D or 3D visual information and the time and resource constraints
- select the relevant methods, media and scale to produce suitable visuals
Create visuals
**
3. create visuals that convey the essential concepts of the design and artistic design ideas
4. label and reference visuals in line with organisational requirements
5. check that visuals contain sufficient information to allow clients to approve designs for subsequent stages
6. complete visuals within agreed deadlines
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
- the content of the design concept and design brief
- how to interpret what is required for 2D and 3D visuals and associated material samples
- the intended purpose for the visuals
- the extent of your own drawing skills and the limits of your expertise
- appropriate ways to develop your drawing skills
- how to maintain record systems of visuals and associated material samples
- the different types of method and medium for producing 2D and 3D visuals
