The aim of this standard is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills to be able to operate equipment and use materials in the manufacture of cartons.


Performance criteria

You must be able to:

Set up carton manufacturing equipment

  1. check equipment is safe and ready for production
  2. check you have materials to meet specifications
  3. check you have details required for work
  4. report issues where materials provided are not correct or sufficient to the appropriate person(s)
  5. identify job requirements to meet specifications
  6. start up and shut down machinery in both normal operations and in emergency situations
  7. make ready equipment for effective operation
  8. produce samples and check they match the required standards
  9. obtain approval prior to commencing production
