Overview

This standard is about carrying out airside maintenance operations in airports/airfields. This involves selecting and preparing all the information, equipment and materials you need to carry out maintenance such as cleaning and sweeping, repairing surfaces, systems and signage, grass cutting and carrying out inspections. Performance criteria

You must be able to:

1. Identify the airside maintenance to be carried out 2. Select and prepare the materials and equipment to carry out airside maintenance operations in line with organisational and airport/airfield procedures 3. Take the required action according to your organisation’s and airport/airfield's procedures when materials and equipment are faulty or unavailable 4. Identify the other activities which are taking place where the airside maintenance is being carried out, and take the required action to ensure there is no conflict between them 5. Carry out airside maintenance operations in line with your organisation’s and the airport/airfield's procedures and maintenance schedule 6. Maintain your own, colleagues’, passengers’, and visitors’ health, safety and welfare when carrying out airside maintenance operations 7. Take the required action when work cannot be completed within the timescales allowed 8. Complete airside maintenance documentation in line with organisational and airport/airfield procedures and relevant requirements
