Overview
This standard is about implementing and maintaining airport/airfield security procedures in your area of responsibility. This involves confirming that organisational and airport/airfield security procedures, including those relating to access points and visitors, are being followed at all times. This also involves responding to security incidents, contributing to the co-ordination of actions taken to respond to security threats or breaches, and following organisational and airport/airfield procedures for reporting actual or suspected security threats or breaches and completing security related documentation.
This standard is for those working in airports/airfields in a supervisory or team leading roles in areas such as ramp operations, aircraft handling, aircraft loading, baggage handling, passenger transfer, cargo and aircraft loading.
When you have completed this standard, you will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of and ability to:

Performance criteria
You must be able to:
1. Implement security procedures in your area of responsibility in line with organisational and airport/airfield procedures and relevant legal requirements
2. Confirm the airport/airfield areas, access points or items within your responsibility are secure according to organisational and airport/airfield procedures and relevant legal requirements
3. Confirm your organisation’s and the airport/airfield’s security procedures relating to visitors to the site or a specified area are followed at all times
4. Monitor team members to confirm compliance with organisational and airport/airfield security procedures and relevant legal requirements at all times
5. Maintain security procedures in line with organisational and airport/airfield procedures and relevant legal requirements
6. Take action in the event of incidents which may present a security risk in line with organisational and airport/airfield procedures
7. Contribute to the co-ordination of action taken in the event of a security threat or breach in line with organisational and airport/airfield procedures and relevant legal requirements
8. Respond to actual or suspected security threats or breaches within the limits of your authority and in line with organisational and airport/airfield procedures and relevant legal requirements
9. Report actual or suspected security threats or breaches in line with organisational and airport/airfield procedures and relevant legal requirements
10. Complete the required security documentation in line with organisational and airport/airfield procedures and relevant legal requirements
