Performance criteria
You must be able to:
1. Obtain and respond to information relating to the aircraft being searched or checked
2. Operate the required equipment to search or check an aircraft in line with your organisation’s procedures
3. Carry out searches and checks of aircraft in line with organisational procedures
4. Maintain your own, customers’ and colleagues’ health, safety and welfare when searching and checking an aircraft
5. Liaise with airline representatives as required throughout the searching or checking of an aircraft
6. Take the required action if you detect unauthorised access or prohibited or suspicious items during an aircraft search or check
7. Seek assistance and / or report situations outside your own authority when searching or checking an aircraft
8. Complete, record and store the details of aircraft searches and checks, and prohibited or suspicious items if found, according to your organisation’s policies and procedures and relevant legal requirements
