Overview

This standard is about controlling access to the aviation security area. You will be able to validate the required documents by manual or electronic means to confirm that those entering the aviation security area are entitled to do so. You must be able to:

Resolve any discrepancies in information within the limits of your own authority and seek help for those which you cannot resolve 5. Monitor and control the flow of customers through the access point, restricting customers where necessary to avoid congestion in the aviation security area 6. Report and record the details of any discrepancies in line with your organisation's procedures and current data protection legislation

You need to know and understand:

1. The limits of the aviation security area 2. The different types of documents required to gain access to the aviation security area 3. The importance of, and procedure for confirming the validity of the documents 4. How and when documents and/or information may be invalid 5. Your organisation’s procedures for dealing with discrepancies in information required to gain access to the aviation security area 6. How to monitor and control the flow of customers, and when to restrict the flow of customers through the access point 7. The limits of your own authority to resolve discrepancies 8. When, how and from whom to seek help to resolve discrepancies which you cannot resolve 9. The relevant reporting lines and procedures that are used by your organisation to control access to the aviation security area 10. Your organisation’s procedures and current data protection legal requirements for recording details of discrepancies
