Achievement of this standard demonstrates your competence in managing effective safety, health, and environmental systems. You will be able to review audits and analyse data, developing plans for, and implementing or improving systems which will be continually monitored and reviewed.
Who *is* *this* *standard* *for?*
This standard is applicable to anyone at a supervisory or managerial level approved to carry out this function working in the mineral extractive sector.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- Conduct your work in line with relevant regulation, legislation, and industry best practice
- Review audits and inspections for safety, health, and environmental considerations
- Analyse safety, health, and environmental data and identify trends
- Develop SMART implementation and monitoring plans
Engage stakeholders, by implementing company procedures, to take an active role in implementation plans
Implement and/or improve systems for maintaining both safety and health
- Implement and/or improve systems of environmental management
- Monitor relevant safety, health, and environmental systems to identify changes or anomalies
- Maintain accurate records of systems, plans, audits, inspections, and incidents
- Evaluate changes against prior performance
- Provide information about your activities to nominated personnel

- Relevant safe systems of work

- Breaches of statutory duty and lines of defence
- The resolution of breaches and deficiencies in safety, health, and environmental systems
- How to write SMART objectives in order to deliver, monitor and evaluate improvement
