Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- assess the risks associated with the site and the proposed maintenance work on land drainage systems
- confirm that suitable clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn
- inspect, assess and report on the site prior to implementing the maintenance of land drainage systems according to organisation requirements
- confirm plans for the maintenance of land drainage systems are consistent with the purpose and function of the site and the specifications
- determine the resources required to implement the maintenance of land drainage systems
- confirm that the appropriate tools, equipment and machinery for maintenance of land drainage systems are prepared and used safely and correctly
- check the working methods are established and clearly communicated to all those involved in the maintenance of land drainage systems
- minimise any risk to the public and operators

- supervise and monitor planned operations to ensure they meet the specifications and agreed time schedules
- assess the results of planned operations

- confirm that work is carried out in accordance with relevant environmental and health and safety legislation, risk assessment requirements, codes of practice and organisational policies
