This standard is about floral event management. It covers implementing the management skills required to plan, produce, manage and evaluate complex floral events.


This will include interpreting the client/event brief and producing, presenting, and implementing plans suitable for complex, viable events.

Performance criteria

You must be able to:

  1. Identify and interpret clients requirements for a floral event
  2. Produce complex drawings and labelled plans to illustrate concepts that can be used for corporate, event and large scale installations as part of a design consultation
  3. Use a range of events management skills to aid the planning of the floral events ensuring proposed designs are fit for purpose
  4. Ensure planned designs are commercially viable
  5. Complete a site visit, record the required information accurately and identify any potential issues
  6. Calculate the cost of floral events and produce formal quotations
  7. Produce a schedule of work for the client
  8. Identify any potential marketing opportunities
  9. Create a relevant scheme of decoration for the floral event
  10. Present a design proposal to the client using a suitable format and respond to any feedback from the client where necessary
  11. Create a workplan for constructing designs and setting up floral events, identifying any personnel and resources required

  14. Confirm that relevant insurance, where required is in place for floral event management
