Overview
This standard describes the skills and knowledge requirements for monitoring and evaluating improvements made to organisational energy performance. It includes how to manage methods and processes to monitor and evaluate improvements to organisational energy performance, how to obtain, analyse and record information on improvements to organisational energy performance.
This standard is suitable for:
· A manager with responsibility for energy management· An owner of a small business seeking to improve the energy performance of the organisation· An energy management systems co-ordinator or equivalent· An energy auditor· A consultant providing energy management advice.
This standard covers monitoring and evaluating energy improvement results and producing reports and engaging and communicating within all those involved in improving energy performance.
When monitoring and evaluating improvements made to organisational energy performance, you/the monitor needs to have in mind the requirements to protect nature and strengthen ecological resilience, boost resource-efficiency, lower carbon growth and reduce threats to human health and wellbeing.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- Identify organisational energy performance improvements processes requiring monitoring and evaluation
- Specify the types of monitoring methods for energy consumption
- Identify all resources required to monitor and evaluate improvements made to organisational energy performance
- Monitor and evaluate implemented improvements to energy performance in accordance with organisational requirements
- Take action where implemented improvements to organisational energy performance are not being achieved in accordance with the scope and definition of the organisational energy performance improvement processes
- Where necessary obtain energy performance information from suppliers of products and processes, to help identify if improvements to energy performance are working
- Document and record finding from monitoring and evaluating organisational energy performance improvements
- Communicate the results of the evaluation to relevant stakeholders, including those with protected characteristics

- The different monitoring methods for evaluating the effectiveness of improvements made to organisational energy performance
