Performance criteria
You must be able to:
assess the risks associated with the activity to be carried out
wear suitable clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE)
select, prepare, use and maintain beekeeping equipment and
materials safely and correctly
- use the correct method to de-cap honeycombs and separate the
capping from the honey
- confirm that the honey is strained and settled correctly after
extraction in order to prevent contamination
pack and label honey in accordance with relevant legislation

maintain good hygiene in accordance with food safety standards
