Overview

This standard covers the selection and movement of animals to a new location. The route should be planned and checked in advance and the new location prepared to receive the animals.

The animals should be moved in a manner that is appropriate, reduces stress and is safe for humans and animals. You will also need to check that the location where the animals are being moved to is ready to receive them and is safe, secure and suitable.

When working with livestock or machinery you should be trained, and hold the current certification where required, in accordance with the relevant legislation.

When carrying out your work you must consider the impact it will have on the environment.
