Overview
This standard is about assisting in the collection of measured data for building or land surveys and then analysing and compiling this information into a suitable format. It is about contributing to the preparation of survey operations and presenting the data analysis.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- confirm the objectives and purpose of the building or land survey with your line manager
- confirm with the survey users and customers, that the survey method statement meets their requirements
- check and confirm, before starting work, that all arrangements have been made to collect the measured data from the required building or land site to be surveyed
- arrange for the required equipment to be brought to the site and kept in compliance with the relevant security requirements
- check and adjust equipment to confirm that it is in working order
- collect data by taking the required observations and measurements using the relevant methods and equipment to meet data requirements
- adapt your own and your organisation's work procedures and practices to allow for different circumstances and conditions
- record survey data in accordance with your organisation's requirements, storing the data securely for later analysis
- assist in assembling and collecting survey data to allow an analysis to be made
- assist in checking and verifying the survey data to meet the relevant data requirements and the relevant industry standards
- present the data analysis, the commentary and any support information in the agreed format to survey users and customers
