Overview
This standard is about being able to use technical information systems and information technology systems within your role. It is about collating and organising information into the required format for reference and use, and providing guidance to colleagues and managers who need to find and use the information.
It is also about using software and information technology for project purposes, as well as maintaining project information to the required confidentiality and security standards.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- collate and organise information into the required format for reference and use
- classify stored information so that it can be identified and retrieved when required
- advise and offer guidance to colleagues and managers who require to find and use the information
- use your organisation's procedures for inputting, maintaining and archiving information
- use technical information systems and information technology within your organisation's agreed procedures
- handle, edit, format and confirm information and data obtained from the relevant internal and external sources
- extract, enter, and process information to produce the outputs required by colleagues and clients
- implement your organisation's data security measures to maintain project information to the required confidentiality and security standards​
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
