Overview
This standard is about managing and facilitating employees’ release, such as retirement, redundancy, resignation, ill health, poor performance or conduct-related dismissal, transfers. It includes developing and agreeing release processes, implementing these in accordance with the values of the organisation and relevant legislation and providing both individuals and managers with appropriate support.
This standard is for HR professionals who are involved in managing and facilitating employees’ release.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- develop and agree release processes that meet the needs of the organisation
- follow release processes in accordance with employment legislation and code of practice
- implement release processes in line with organisational values
- maintain respect and confidentiality when communicating action plan in relation to people release
- support managers in implementing release processes
- monitor managers’ competence in legal basis of the release processes
- conduct exit administration in accordance with the release processes and procedures
- maintain complete and accurate records of employees’ release
- identify legislative changes that may impact release processes
- review and evaluate release processes on a regular basis and recommend relevant revisions and improvements
