Overview
This standard covers the skills and knowledge needed to prepare products for storage and delivery. The products need to be packed in the correct containers and protected from damage. They also have to be marked with the correct instructions, and this could include the use of labels, stencils or tags.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
- comply with health and safety requirements and procedures at all times

- assemble packing materials and prepare them to meet specifications

- identify any problems and deal with them according to standard operating procedures
- use marking methods for products and packing following standard operating procedures
- check products are marked with instructions to meet specifications
- check products are undamaged by markings following standard operating procedures
- record information on the marking of products in the appropriate information systems
