This standard covers the skills and knowledge needed to process products and materials by applying coatings or treatments in the fabrication of glass supporting systems. This involves preparing the products and materials for the application of the coating or treatment, and ensuring the correct type and quality are available. The candidate then uses the appropriate equipment to coat or treat the products and materials in a way that enables the product to meet the specification. The candidate also has to identify any problems with the process and take the appropriate action.

This unit applies to operatives who fabricate windows, doors, conservatories and curtain walling.
