Overview

"This standard is about planning demolition activities by implementing demolition requirements, prioritising demolition activities, identifying and scheduling further demolition requirements with decision-makers and adopting safe, healthy and environmentally responsible work practices in accordance with current organisational requirements which are equal to or exceed current statutory and legislative requirements
This standard is for people working in the occupational area of construction site supervision which is defined as the supervision of multiple construction trades and disciplines and can be used by operatives, supervisors and managers"


Performance criteria

You must be able to:

"P1    confirm and record the work requirements for at least two of
        the following demolition activities against five of the following
        information sources:
        Demolition activities
        1.1     soft strip
        1.2     mechanical demolition
        1.3     remote mechanical demolition
        1.4     explosive demolition
        1.5     selective demolition
        1.6     diamond drilling and sawing

         1.12   risk assessments and method statements
         1.13   programmes
         1.14   records about the competence of people

         1.17   asbestos surveys
         1.18   service disconnection certificates
         1.19   utilities survey report
P2     identify, review and record the findings from at least three of
         the following influencing factors and two of the following
         guidance materials in relation to the work environment:

         4.4     environmental considerations
         4.5     meeting current legislation
         4.6     resources
         4.7     security threats
         4.8    temporary works
P5      prepare and record the plans or schedules for at least three of
          the following demolition activities and negotiate and agree
          them with decision makers:
          5.1     soft strip
          5.2     mechanical demolition
          5.3     remote mechanical demolition
          5.4     explosive demolition
          5.5     selective demolition
          5.6     diamond drilling and sawing
          5.7     temporary works installation or removal"
