Hand over property
Overview
"This standard is about the handover of the property by confirming the property meets the agreed specifications, ensuring a property is ready to be handed over and providing the recipient with appropriate information in accordance with current organisational requirements which are equal to or exceed current statutory and legislative requirements
This standard is for people working in the occupational area of construction site supervision which is defined as the supervision of multiple construction trades and disciplines and can be used by operatives, supervisors and managers"
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
"P1 record and confirm procedures and time for implementing the
handing over of the property
P2 analyse completed work against property specifications, identify
and record any discrepancies
P3 take appropriate action to resolve any problems that emerge from
an inspection of the property and record the outcomes
P4 ensure the property is clean and tidy, ensure any redundant
materials are removed and record all the preparation activities
undertaken prior to the hand over
P5 observe organisational procedures appropriate to the work
environment and ensure protection of the workforce, the
general public, visitors and the environment by the application
of information relating to at least three of the following:
5.1 methods of work
5.2 risk assessment
5.3 safe use and storage of tools and equipment
5.4 safe use and storage of materials
5.5 traffic control
5.6 emergency plans
P6 provide the recipient with all relevant documents, materials,
information and keys or access media and record all the
details relating to the property provided to the recipient
P7 advise and record the information provided to the recipient of the
procedure for contacting the appropriate people in the event
of problems arising after the handover"

Analyse property specifications
K4 how to analyse property specifications in order to compare
details with the completed work including but not limited to:
K4.1 demolition
K4.2 building
K4.3 refurbishment
K4.4 conservation
K4.5 repair and maintenance
K5 how to check the property against the property specification
and record results
K6 how to identify discrepancies in dimensions, finishing's, fittings
and services, quality, quantity and structure between property
specifications and the completed tasks

Resolve problems
K7 how to inspect the property and record results
K8 how to take appropriate action to resolve problems identified
during an inspection of the property relating to:
K8.1 cleanliness
K8.2 damage
K8.3 removal of redundant materials
K8.4 dimensions
K8.5 finishing's, fittings and services
K8.6 quality
K8.7 quantity
K8.8 structure
K8.9 health and safety issues
K8.10 access and egress
Performance Criteria 4
Ensure property is clean and tidy
K9 how to ensure the property is clean and tidy and problems are
recorded and resolved before handover

K10 what organisational requirements apply, to ensure the
protection of the workforce, the general public, visitors and
the environment in relation to the following:
K10.1 methods of work
K10.2 risk assessment
K10.3 safe use and storage of tools and equipment

K10.6 emergency plans

Provide information
K11 what organisational procedures apply directly to the handover
of property including but not limited to:
K11.1 warranties
K11.2 certificates
K11.3 energy performance certificates (EPC)
K11.4 guarantees
K12 how to ensure relevant information is available, including but
not limited to:
K12.1 utility meter(s) location
K12.2 communication systems
K12.3 appliance operation details
K12.4 access and egress systems
K12.5 security
K12.6 arrangements for refuse collection
K12.7 local amenities
K12.8 danger zones
K13 how to record and provide the relevant information to the
recipients:
