Analyse captured digital images and provide feedback
Overview
This standard covers the competencies you need to analyse captured digital images and provide feedback within your level of responsibility.
You will be required to demonstrate that you can analyse and interpret the digital image and provide feedback within your level of responsibility. The feedback could be in the form of written, verbal or electronic, following organisational and regulatory procedures.
The activity is likely to be undertaken by someone in a science-related work setting, including individuals working in hospitals, scientific laboratories and universities.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
P1. ensure that your work is carried out in accordance with organisational requirements and Standard Operating Procedures
P2. use safe practices and the appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) when undertaking digital imaging analysis meeting organisational requirements and procedures
P3. follow organisational requirements and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the security and confidentiality of digital imaging information
P4. assess existing and record new information on the organisational information system
P5. analyse captured digital image in accordance with organisational requirements
P5. follow organisational requirements for maintaining the security of the workplace
P6. produce and distribute digital imaging information system reports in accordance with organisational requirements and Standard Operating Procedures
P7. communicate the required information about the captured image, in accordance with organisational requirements and Standard Operating Procedures
P8. complete all the required organisational documentation in accordance with organisational requirements
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
K1. the health and safety requirements of the area in which you are carrying out the digital imaging activitiesK2. the importance of wearing personnel protective equipment (PPE), including protective clothing, gloves and eye protection for digital imagingK3. legislation, regulations, standards and guidelines relating to digital imaging and the implications of not following them K4. the organisational requirements and Standard Operating Procedures correctly to ensure the security and confidentiality of digital imaging informationK5. unique workplace coding system and the importance of using themK6. the organisational requirements that exist for the use and application of licensed equipment software antivirus and antispy software protectionK7. the organisational requirements and regulations that exist on data protection and the data protection actK8. the organisational requirements for maintaining the security of the workplace K10. the lines of communication and responsibilities in your department, and their links with the rest of the organisationK11. the limits of your own authority and to whom you should report if you have problems that you cannot resolve.K12. the correct start-up and shutdown procedures to be used for the computer systemK13. how to deal with system problems messages received, peripherals which do not respond as expectedK14. how to access and communicate data effectively, and how to identify key information when recording and forwarding messages accuratelyK15. the different forms of communication available to you, and how they are usedK16. the organisational and or workplace procedures for acknowledging and responding to incoming and outgoing information
