Overview
This standard identifies the competencies you need to unload hydrogen product in-line with operational and regulatory requirements.
You will be required to demonstrate that you can unload hydrogen product, ensuring that you park the road tanker at the safe parking area, taking account of the destination, local conditions, legal and social constraints associated with parking, in-line with operational and regulatory requirements.
This could include individuals working in the following industries, Chemical, Petro-Chemicals, Storage and Energy production.
Please Note:
For the purpose of this Standard, a Road Tanker is defined as a specialised transport vehicle designed for the safe and efficient transportation of large quantities of hydrogen, typically in its liquid or compressed gaseous state. These tankers are essential for the distribution of hydrogen to refuelling stations, industries, and other consumers who require hydrogen as an energy source or for various applications.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
P1. park safely in an area meeting visiting sites' organisational requirements
P2. park the tanker at the safe parking area, taking account of destination local conditions and the legal and social constraints associated with parking
P3. identify the designated or appropriate muster points and evacuation routes
P4. carry out a dynamic risk assessment in accordance with organisational procedures
P5. incorporate any additional instructions from the site operator, if applicable.
P6. implement the delivery and post-delivery procedures in accordance with organisational procedures
P7. apply the documentation requirements of the delivery in accordance with organisational procedures
P8. use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with organisational and legal procedures
P9. offload hydrogen in accordance with legal and employing organisation procedures, including site specific requirements
P10. apply emergency response procedures, if required
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
K1. the security and access or egress requirements of the delivery location.
K2. the emergency procedures when offloading hydrogen products.
K3. the legal and social constraints associated with parking and how to identify the safe parking area.
K4. how to check for Site Plan and DSEAR or other site specific risk assessments.
K5. how to report site defects and hazards, including near misses.
K6. the location of the muster and evacuation points and use of alarm call points and telephones, where applicable
K7. how to offload hydrogen products in accordance with legal and organisation procedures
K8. the hydrogen delivery and post delivery procedures
K9. how to implement the employing organisation delivery and post-delivery procedures.
K10. what Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to use and how to use it correctly
K11. how to identify the responsible person at the delivery point.
K12. the respective responsibilities of all those involved in the delivery.
K13. the documentation requirements of the delivery.
K14. the emergency management procedure and response measures.
