Export hydrogen product
This standard identifies the competencies you need to export hydrogen product.
You will be required to obtain authorisation, use safety equipment and procedures, select the appropriate methods of transfer and storage to safely export the hydrogen product.
You must be able to:
P1. use all necessary safety equipment in line with organisational and legal requirements
P2. obtain the necessary work permits, clearances, and isolation permissions before entering the work area, in line with organisational and legal requirements
P3. apply safety procedures for hydrogen export, including safety checks, shutdowns, and emergency response procedures in line with the organisational and legal requirements
P4. select the export method and operating conditions based on the customer’s requirements.
P5. select the storage tank and operating conditions based on the customer’s requirements.
Knowledge and Understanding
You need to know and understand:
K1. the safety equipment necessary for safe hydrogen production, including personal protective equipment (PPE), alarms, and monitoring devices
K2. the requirements for work area access, isolation permissions, working with gases, fire protection and extinguishing requirements for a hydrogen production environment to meet organisational and legal requirementsK3. the organisational and legal requirements for safe hydrogen export, including safety checks, shutdowns, and emergency response procedures requirements to ensure worker safety K4. the types of gas detection equipment used in hydrogen production and the importance of regularly calibrating to ensure accuracy and effectivenessK5. the properties of hydrogen and potential hazards and risks in hydrogen export, such as handling high-pressure gases or dealing with flammable materials
K6. safe working procedures while exporting hydrogen gas, including how to conduct leak detection and atmospheric testingK7. the equipment and conditions for export to storage tank
K8. the requirements for purging the systems
K9. the importance of effectively managing potential venting or boil-off incidentsK10. the importance of accurately completing all necessary documentation to meet organisational and legal requirements
K11. understanding of the information that needs to be communicated and to whom it needs to be communicated to meet organisational and legal requirements
