Overview
This standard covers the competences you need package bulk liquid products
You will be required to demonstrate that you can prepare, fill and secure receptacles ensuring the receptacles are stored correctly in accordance with authorised procedures.
During this work you must take account of the relevant operational requirements and safe working practices AS THEY APPLY TO YOU.
The activity is likely to be undertaken by someone in petrochemical work setting, including individuals working in refineries, chemical plants and tank storage.
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
P1 ensure appropriate stocks of consumables are available
P2 correctly use ancillary equipment
P3 effectively confirm that the system is ready for use
P4 correctly secure and connect the system and earthing connections
P5 correctly select the appropriate receptacles
P6 ensure that the filling system is appropriate to the nature of the product
P7 correctly fill the receptacle
P8 correctly use sealing and securing devices
P9 ensure that gulleys and drainage channels are free of obstruction and clear of contamination
P10 ensure that hoses and sumps are clear of product and valves are shut prior to disconnection from line
P11 correctly disconnect all relevant equipment
P12 correctly blank off flanges and hoses
P13 use the correct cleaning agents and techniques
P14 correctly store the receptacles in an appropriate location
P15 communicate all relevant information to the appropriate people
P16 work safely in accordance with operational requirements
