This standard covers the skills and knowledge required to complete standard cut-outs in work surfaces for general appliances such as taps, hobs and sinks. This covers using a template, cutting out and finishing
Performance criteria
You must be able to:
comply with health and safety requirements and procedures at all
times
- obtain specifications and requirements following standard
operating procedures
- obtain equipment and materials required following standard
operating procedures
- check equipment is set up correctly and in good working order
following standard operating procedures and any manufacturer's
instructions
- check materials required meet specifications and are free from
faults
- use appropriate jigs and templates to measure and mark out cuts
to be made to meet specifications
- select appropriate cutting tools following manufacturers'
instructions
- cut surfaces accurately following company procedures and
manufacturers' instructions following cutting lists
