Performance criteria

You must be able to:

1. Plan and organise the aviation security team to meet organisational security requirements and anticipated passenger traffic 2. Allocate and confirm duties according to the roster plan, resources available and anticipated passenger traffic 3. Brief the aviation security team on the requirements for the shift and provide the required information and resources, in line with organisational procedures 4. Confirm the aviation security team understand their duties, roles and responsibilities for the shift 5. Supervise and monitor the aviation security team to ensure compliance with organisational standards, policies and procedures 6. Identify deficiencies and non-compliance and either deal with them immediately or take action to improve performance such as corrective and preventative actions in line with organisational procedures 7. Provide support to aviation security team members as required to maintain compliance and standards in line with the organisation’s procedures 8. Communicate in a way which demonstrates respect for aviation security team members and promotes the values of your organisation 9. Respond to any issues which occur within the limits of your authority according to organisational procedures 10. De-brief the aviation security team against the organisation’s standards and requirements set out in the pre-shift briefing 11. Provide feedback to aviation security team members to recognise their achievements and identify areas for improvement 12. Provide opportunities for aviation security team members to respond to your feedback 13. Maintain the confidentiality of feedback provided to aviation security team members 14. Motivate your team members
